Facts
about Somerset
County
Penn
State University's outreach efforts in Somerset County began in
1915 with the hiring of C. C. McDowell as County Farm Agent. Since
this early beginning, Cooperative Extension educational programs
in agriculture and natural resources, family living, and 4-H/youth
development have helped to expand the horizons of Somerset County
residents. Penn State Cooperative Extension agents, in collaboration
with Somerset County government, continue to help citizens improve
their quality of life in Somerset County--"The Roof Garden
of Pennsylvania."
